Goodness, have I really done nothing interesting in 2009 so far? Well to be honest it feels about right.

Over the past few weeks, between illnesses, general exhaustion, funerals and work I have been attempting to learn the very thing that inspired me to work with computers: 3D Modelling.

It's pretty depressing to think that I notched up 10 grand's worth of debt at university and only got to learn a few basics which I have long since forgotten!

On top of that, I can't afford the industry standard software we were using back then, so I was delighted to find that those Open Source advocates have even gone as far as creating an extremely powerful 3D package. For free.

So having forgotten everything I ever knew I am working through the Blender Noob to Pro tutorials in an effort to be able to create somekind of virtual world I can escape to.

I've not got very far. But here it is, my first effort, entitled "Morph meets Mountain".



Might be a while before I can go for that interview at Pixar...
